I'm pretty sure the game compares "apples with apples" - meaing, in compared medium games with other medium games. Obviously, a large game will end up with more "bubbles", but that doesn't automatically mean a good review (even for my first large game). Besides, making AAA games is very, very expensive, and I don't often have the budget to do so.
It’s quite easy to come up with a winning combination in Dev Tycoon 2 if you have played a lot of games and have common knowledge about game genres (RPG, Strategy etc.): A Dungeon themed game can go very well with the RPG genre, whereas a Space theme matches pretty well with the arcade or simulation genre.
How do you unlock AAA in Game Dev Tycoon? AAA is unlocked by achieving either five tens on a large game, or four tens and one 11 on a large game.
