in colorado i found a local company that works on them for 50 to 150 bucksso ill find out today whats wrong.. but as far as the stock head unit and an after market dvd player they just mount right up tap power off whatever (is recommended) and there is direction how to make it bypass the head unit stereo sound when you put in a dvd or cd to the after market dvd player
The dealer has the IDS, not all diagnostic tools can check or communicate with the dvd player. Make sure fuse # XXXXX(15 amp) in the battery junction box(BJB) is good and tight in the BJB. It could be a bad connection, power,ground or CAN network issue for the dvd. If all the circuits are verified as good the dvd would need to be replaced.

2021 Limited DVD Player Not Working. My 2021 Limited Ford Explorer came with headrest DVD player. It worked for a bit, but then one day the player would not eject the DVD, the screen went blank, and the buttons flash red. I can hear the DVD spinning around inside the player but nothing else happens. Enter the diagnostic mode by pressing and holding preset buttons 3 and 6 simultaneously. This will suspend all radio functions, and display SP. Preset Button 1 = Audio internal/external SELF TEST. Mine is aftermarket and im sure it differs from yours but try (with a helper) disconnecting its power supply then while pressing the eject button re-connect the power. If that doesnt work look for a "pin hole" near the DVD drive access door. Unfold a paperclip and insert into the hole GENTLY.
